Çambükü Project

Bodrum, Muğla

Çambükü is one of the best-preserved areas of Bodrum, and as its name suggests, it defines an unspoiled part of the geography with a quiet coastline dominated by pine and cedar trees.

In addition to the natural features of the region, the Demir Houses and Aman Ruya, which are 'man-made' examples, make this impressive geography a strong but calm tourism and recreation focus.

The Çambükü housing project is designed as an independent housing project that will work together with the Aman Ruya Hotel and utilize the facilities of the hotel to a certain extent. The main idea of the design is to create a unique settlement that is almost hidden in the dense tree texture and connected to it. In doing so, to create a living space that is as free as possible from vehicular traffic.

We are placing fragmented housing units with the help of certain modules inside the thin-bodied pine grove. These units consist of wooden frame structures attached to each other with different support points.

While the wood texture in the buildings establishes a communication with the grove, the fragmented forms of the buildings, which settle on the land without damaging the existing trees, are reshaped in nature.

This fragmented housing system of timber-framed single and two-storey units converges with the architectural features of Demir Evleri and Aman Ruya, while establishing a physical and sensory connection to each other from the grounds of the buildings with a unique stone landscape.
