Bilgili's Greenwich in the World Finals

Greenwich, developed by Bilgili Group and designed by Uruguayan architect Rafael Vinoly, has been shortlisted for the SBID International Design Awards, one of the world's most prestigious awards for architectural design.

The Turkish real estate giants' most talked-about projects are located in the US. Miami has become the center of this trend, while New York hosts prestigious projects. Bilgili Group's Greenwich is the most popular project in recent times. Greenwich is not only one of New York's tallest buildings but also one of the tallest in the US. This massive skyscraper stands at 88 stories and 278 meters in height. It is one of the ten tallest buildings in New York. In terms of the number of floors, it ranks second after the world-famous 102-story Empire State Building. Excluding office buildings, it holds the title of the tallest residential skyscraper. Covering an area of 42,921 square meters, the top three floors of the tower feature dining areas, entertainment venues, fitness facilities, a pool, and a spa. It includes a total of 272 luxury apartments, ranging from studio apartments to spacious three-bedroom residences. The interior design of the project, created by London-based March & White Design, was designed to maximize views of the Hudson River, New York Harbor, and the city skyline thanks to its minimalist column design and full-height glass facades. The architect is the world-renowned Uruguayan Rafael Vinoly. The Latin American-born architect, who has designed masterpieces such as the Brooklyn Children's Museum, the Tokyo International Forum, the Kimmel Center, and the Cleveland Museum of Art, passed away in 2023, but his awards and designs continue to be recognized among the world's best.

The biggest award in global architecture

Greenwich, one of Vinoly's last major projects, is in the final of a competition that will keep his name alive. Greenwich, a residential project that offers New York's most stylish lifestyle, has made it to the final of the SBID International Design Awards, one of the world's most prestigious awards in architectural design. Greenwich, which is part of Bilgili Holding's portfolio, competed in this award program, which featured hundreds of special projects from 85 countries. It is now one of five works in the SBID International Design Awards-Society of British & International Interior Design category, which determines the best in the field.

Secured major financing in May

An important step was taken regarding the project's financing in recent months. As we reported in May, Bilgili Holding, the company of Serdar Bilgili, the businessman behind Greenwich, secured a $350 million refinancing loan from Starwood Property Trust for the project. Starwood Property Trust, a subsidiary of Starwood Capital Group, the global private investment company of US investor Barry Sternlicht, who has a fortune of $4.4 billion, provided significant funding for the project developed by Bilgili, Fortress Investment Group, and Bizzi&Partners.

Working with the Bizzi family

Serdar Bilgili, a businessman and former executive of Beşiktaş, decided to partner with Bizzi&Partners in 2023, which has been involved in some very important projects in the US. The two partners have decided to work together on some projects in both the US and Europe. Bilgili and Bizzi plan to partner on all future projects, including an office property they are developing on 5th Avenue in Miami Beach. They are also seeking additional opportunities in some office properties they hope to redevelop in New York, Miami, and Los Angeles. The Bilgili and Bizzi partnership, which also has projects in Tuscany, Bordighera, and Milan in Italy, aims to invest in Europe as well, including hotels.

Bilgili Holding, which also signs unique projects in the luxury residential development sector in Turkey, combines hotel services with residential living in Nişantaşı with The Ritz-Carlton Residences Istanbul.
